Speaker Series: The business case for ethics

Club Member James Bushell is an entrepreneur, philanthropist & adventurer. He has set up businesses globally, trekked with local militia in Laos, sailed a traditional Fijian vaka from Bougainville to Wellington as well as volunteered & helped establish charities in New Zealand and abroad. As the founder & director of MOTIF, a specialist investment & business advisory focused on ethical business, James is supporting companies to contribute to a more equitable & sustainable world. One of Mr Bushells’ dreams is to see a world filled with innovative businesses where ethical practice is the status quo, where economic principles are inherently socially & environmentally focused, and companies are committed to investing in our future.

Mr Bushell also sits on a number of boards & advisory boards including The University of Wellington Brian Picot Ethics Advisory Board, Transparency International New Zealand and The Equanut Company. He also chairs The Wellington Chocolate Factory & the One Percent Collective.
