Explore the eastern end of Wellington’s wild & amazing South Coast.
On a nice day it's like strolling in the Mediterranean, but of course, Wellington's fickle climate can also make this a savage & windswept place.
Visit Ataturk Memorial and Beacon Hill Station, where you can view Barrett’s Reef - the site of the Wahine disaster in 1968.
You will then head through pines & downstairs to the road exotically named Pass of Branda. The Pass of Branda was named after the apparently well-known pass at the head of Loch Ave in the Argyll and Bute area of Scotland.
The 2-hour walk is of undulating terrain (intermediate level).
Time: 8.50am for 9am start
Venue: Meet at the Ataturk Memorial car park on Moa Point Rd
