The Club will host a Combined Services Dinner on Friday 9 November, to coincide with Remembrance Day on November 11.
Remembrance Day is a memorial day that has been observed in Commonwealth Nations since the end of World War I, to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
The guest speaker will be Major General Martyn Dunne will share stories about the last six months at Le Quesnoy and on the home front leading up to the Armistice.
Martyn Dunne, CNZM, is a retired New Zealand Army officer, a diplomat and senior public servant. He is currently the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries. From 2011 until 2013 he was New Zealand High Commissioner to Australia based in Canberra.
