Welcome to New Zealand's oldest Club with the most modern facilities - 'an extension of your home' located in the heart of New Zealand's capital city. Only twenty minutes by car from the airport.
Situated in the central business district, only a few minutes walk to Parliament, corporate business, retail shopping, cultural centres, entertainment and the waterfront.
The Club has men and women members so there are no restrictions in the use of dining rooms or other facilities. We provide the highest quality food and service at very reasonable prices and maintain a welcome feeling of relaxed privacy.

Accommodation
Ten fully self contained bedrooms with en-suite featuring the following facilities:
Sky digital television,
mini bar, tea/coffee, individually adjustable air conditioning and internet connection (RJ45 broadband in-room and WiFi in the public areas).
Tariffs cover single or double occupancy, breakfasts, covered carpark and GST (New Zealand value added tax) and are available on application.
Same day laundry service available.
Tipping:
Tipping at the Club is not permitted. As a visitor, if you feel you would like to reward the staff, we suggest you show your appreciation by donating to the Club’s gratuity fund, which is distributed to staff at Christmas.

Payment by cash, EFT/POS and all major Credit Cards is accepted for members of reciprocal Clubs visiting the Wellington Club. (Credit Card payment may attract additional fees).

Facilities
Administrative Services:
The Club's administrative services (level 4) are available to assist with business meetings held in the private meeting rooms on the 4th and 6th floors.
Animals:
Guide dogs only.
Billiard Room:
5th floor.
Brief Cases / Business Papers:
We request all brief cases and business papers be left in the Cloak Room opposite the Club Office on the 4th floor. Business papers are allowed in a private meeting room and in the Club Bar and Business Centre on the 6th floor.
Business Centre:
6th floor: Internet access, private work desks, photocopier, printer etc…
Car Park:
Located in the basement of the Club building with direct lift access to the Club. Locked and covered, situated right in the heart of the city.
Children:
Must be accompanied by an adult.

Dining:
A great choice of venues awaits you here: From the traditional high-ceiling members’ main dining room to the more casual dining facilities on level 6 or various private dining rooms throughout the Club we can cater for any event: be it à la carte dining by yourself a small business lunch or dinner, or hosting a wedding for up to 160 guests or cocktail receptions for 350. Menus for breakfast, lunch or dinner can be discussed with our Functions Manager. Menu selection for private functions – “Design your own Menu” – just another service we can provide you with.
Dress Code:
5th floor and
4th floor Reading Room - Formal attire, jacket and tie for men is the strict Club rule.
All guests of a member must observe the minimum dress rules of the Club. Gentlemen shall wear a jacket, tie and long trousers. Ladies shall wear appropriate business or evening wear. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that his/her guests are complying with these minimum standards. It is recommended that members display the desired dress code on invitation cards.
4th
and 6th floor:
Tidy casual dress (tie or jacket optional), a collared shirt (polo or business, but not T-shirt), long trousers (not jeans), shoes (not trainers).
Members wishing to use the Health and Fitness Centre are asked to swiftly proceed without lingering in the public area of the Club.
Residents in the accommodation may wear casual attire when entering and leaving the Club.
Function facilities:
Conferences, Business meetings, Weddings, Formal Dinners, Official Receptions and Cocktail Parties or small functions: Please direct all your inquiries to our Functions Manager.
Please note that only members of the Wellington Club and members of reciprocal Clubs can book a function and must be present throughout the duration of any such function.

Equipment Hire:
Audio Visual, parquet dance floor and other equipment is available on request (a hire fee is applicable).
Weekend Functions (Saturdays only):
The minimum number for a weekend function is 60 people. Additional charges will be applicable. The guaranteed number attending a function is required three working days prior to a function. This will be the minimum number charged.

Health and Fitness Centre:
6th floor. Use of the Health and Fitness Centre it is at your own risk and the alarm bracelet has to be worn at all times, when exercising by yourself.

Liquor:
The Club is fully licensed. Members and guests are not allowed to provide their own liquor.
Membership information:
Guests of Members: It is the responsibility of the host/member to ensure that the Club’s rules are adhered to at all times.
Membership inquiries:
Membership is by invitation only. Individual members or the Secretary Manager will answer inquiries about joining the Club.
Categories of Membership:
Ordinary, Under 40, Senior, Country, Overseas (Supernumerary), Life, Honorary and Diplomatic. Both men and women are eligible for full membership.
Mobile Telephones:
Must be turned off on entering the Clubhouse. Strictly forbidden in all dining areas.
Publicity:
The Club is a private haven for members. Under the by-laws of the Club no publicity is permitted under any circumstances. Any reference to an event at the Club must be restricted to 'a private reception in Wellington'. Invitations to media must be authorised by the Club Committee. Special permission must be obtained from management for the media to enter the Club to interview or photograph a member or a visiting guest.
Reading Room and Library:
4th floor. Jacket and Tie for men is minimum
dress requirement. This room is reserved for members only or guests
who are accompanied by
a member.
Reception:
Located on the 4th floor.
Reciprocal Clubs:
The Club has reciprocal
arrangements with close to 100 Clubs within New Zealand
and
around the world. The Wellington Club is a member of The Distinguished Clubs of the World.
Room Hire:
Club policy is to waive
room hire for meeting and function rooms when food and beverage consumption amounts to a minimum of $25.00 per head. Members can reserve rooms for private functions, but management reserves the right to reallocate a venue if necessary.
Security:
A security card is supplied to all guests for access to the Club and for car parking entry.
Smoking:
Smoking
is not permitted
anywhere within the Club including bedrooms (by-law 9) nor on the property.
Squash Court:
Located in the basement.
Television:
Digital Sky TV in all bedrooms and two lounges.
Wine List and Spirits:
Please inquire at the Office.
