Peta Carey is an award-winning film-maker and writer, with a varied and slightly hair-raising background of life experiences and stories to tell from around the world. She has made films in far-flung corners of the Pacific, East and West Africa, Europe and India (as well as New Zealand), spent two years sailing and diving in various oceans and survived a plane crash – mid-filming – in the Pacific. She has made films in natural history, adventure, and in the cultural, social and scientific genres.
